The place I have chosen to observe is Hardware Lane in the City of Melbourne. I have observed the laneway during the day and from my observations I noticed:
-The sunlight was blocked by surrounding tall buildings.
-A lot of service vehicles.
-Atmosphere felt Grey.
-Canopies stretching out from buildings.
-Large amount of Cafes parallel to buildings
-Tall thin trees.
-Information kiosk
-Narrowness feeling given by tall buildings despite the reasonable width of the lane.
Night observations of Hardware Lane include:
-Tall thin trees stand out more with street lamps.
-Absence of the narrowness feeling.
-More human activity.
-Brighter colours stood out more and greyness has receded
-Advertising signage more noticeable.
-No pedestrian crossing.
